Job Description: Java Developer with strong ETRM and Tibco experience in Houston, TX

CGI is currently hiring a Java Developer in Houston, TX with strong ETRM development/support background. This resource should have extensive experience in designing and developing technical programs using technologies such as Sun (Java) and Oracle Database. They should be able to design an overall technical solution, translate the design into specific tasks, goals, and plans, and deliver the overall solution through a team of developers. The candidate should be able to develop programs from technical specifications. In addition, they should have troubleshooting skills to find and correct defects in new or existing programs. Candidate should also be able to determine root cause of issues/defects and recommend and implement solutions. They should be have experience with interface and messaging techniques from Tibco/JMS and Sun Microsystems. The candidate must be able to define and implement appropriate coding and documentation standards and work with limited supervision.

The applicant will be expected to have some knowledge of Energy Trading for commodities.

Technical Skills and Experience:
Experience developing/debugging with Eclipse based IDE (IBM RAD/RSA preferred)
Experience with Automated Build Tools (Ant, Maven, Cruise Control, Continuum, etc)
Java Swing UI Development, experience working with Spring framework, RCP and Hibernate.
Experience with version control tools, preferably Subversion
Experience with Tibco RVD messaging (Strongly Preferred).
Experience with Tibco Suite of Products (ADB, SDK, Repository) (Preferred)
Experience with SQL and Relational Databases (Oracle Preferred)
Experience with Clearquest, Service Manager/SM7 (Plus).
Experience with FIX (Financial Information Exchange) API (Plus).
Experience with deal capture from the ICE and Globex Exchanges (Plus)

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technical degree
5+ years experience with Java/Oracle development
2+ years experience with ETRM software solutions
Strong preference for prior Energy Industry experience
