OVERVIEW

  • Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks.
  • Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
  • Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.
  • Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to users.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of network communications.
  • Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks.
  • Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under general supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiarity with Cisco network hardware, including Switches, Routers, and Firewalls
  • CCNA or better strongly preferred
  • Meticulous documentation habits
  • Experience working in a SCADA/Process Control Network environment and the ability to leave "Enterprise" behaviors behind
  • DMVPN experience (plan, configure, implement, and manage)
  • IP over VSAT experience (Provider managed)
  • IP over 3G Cellular experience
  • Ability to plan, configure, implement, and manage VLANs
  • Ability to plan, configure, implement, and manage EIGRP, OSPF, static routes, and route redistribution
  • Skilled with Solarwinds network management products, including NCM, NPM, IPAM, Kiwi Syslog Server, Netflow Traffic Analyzer, and Engineer's Toolset
  • Knowledgeable of SQL database integration for Solarwinds, including multi-site implementation
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude required
