Sr. Oracle DBA
Works independently under general direction of ETC's HCTRA Support Manager; expected to work with client senior staff on a daily basis; possesses the ability to build consensus among team members; is highly organized; is able to provide and justify sound business decisions; responsible for resolving critical issues in a timely manner; must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Minimum Requirements:
Technically responsible for overall operations of systems on a program or at a client site; Oversee system backups and restores process to ensure data integrity; Assist in developing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of data; Oversee installations and configurations of application and database systems; Identify, investigate, and resolve major system performance and application data issues; Analyze and identify system improvement pertaining to performance or data processing procedures; Plan and conduct major database architecture changes including data migration, database migration and integration, and assist with major database software upgrades; Participate in application design effort with ETC Software Development Team; Participate in technical recruiting process; Participate as part of a team ensuring daily system operations are smooth, this may include following daily checklists, participating in status meetings with clients as well as being on-call. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area; 10+ years of experience in direct support of large, high-volume, 24x7 custom Oracle databases; or 10+ years of experience in direct support of E-commerce web application based on Oracle databases; or 10+ years of experience in direct support of financial transaction systems; 10+ years of experience in database backup and recovery using RMAN and OS files; 10+ years of experience in installation and configuration of Oracle database; 10+ years of experience in Oracle database administration in a UNIX/Linux environment; 10+ years of experience with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL with expert knowledge in performance tuning; 3+ years team leadership experience; 3+ years of experience in Apache web server setup and configuration; Experienced in hardware setup, configuration, and server administration of UNIX/Linux based systems; Experienced in tape backup & autoloader setup, configuration, and maintenance utilizing Veritas or similar software; tools; Experienced in working with SAN and NAS systems; Good knowledge of network equipment; Development DBA responsibility for minimum of 5 large-scale projects Proficient with MS Word and Excel; Ability to perform under pressure; Strong problem solving skills; Good communication (both verbal and written) skills; Detail oriented with high degree of discipline in change management process; Some software development experience and consulting background preferred.
