Software Engineer

Digital People IT is looking for a Software Engineer for a geophysical company in Houston. In this role, you will be part of a team developing and maintaining libraries, shared components, and technologies used in geophysical data processing. You will create functional application interfaces and as part of the team you will gather requirements, perform analysis, scope, plan, design, code, implement automated unit testing and deploy scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant modules and libraries.

Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another field that has an emphasis on programming, or relevant work experience
-C/C++ fluency (Fortran also preferred)
-Object Oriented/API design
-UNIX/POSIX programming
-Debugging/profiling/optimizing experience
-Experience with full life cycle of development, including product release
-Client Server programming
Additional Preferred Skills:
-Algorithms - caching, sorting, synchronization
-Perforce (or other source control management software) experience
-PL/SQL (database) experience
-Experience with Operating System Kernels and multithreaded programming
