Systems Team Lead - Trading Infrastructure

We are seeking a Systems Team Lead to support our global trading infrastructure. Experienced individuals seeking an opportunity to work with and coordinate the delivery and support of world class trading systems and technologies will find this a rewarding and challenging role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small but highly effective group of systems engineers optimizing our world-class trading platform
• Evaluate and certify cutting edge systems and hardware solutions in our growing technology test lab
• Perform peer review and provide subject matter expert level opinion on all technical changes to our trading environment
• Interface with vendors, operations teams and Project Management to deliver supportable and repeatable solutions
• Identify new technologies and improvements to existing systems architecture to improve profitability
• Provide a single point of contact for the escalation of hardware and OS specific issues, providing swift and dependable resolution to complex problems
• Triage escalations of complex systems issues and coordinate internal and vendor solutions for problem resolution
• Provide technical assessment of open projects and architectural recommendations
• Define, drive and deliver complex infrastructure deployments across multiple geographic regions and time zones
• Attend trade shows and vendor events to identify technology and industry trends

Requirements

• Experience as a player-coach and mentor of a small team
• Senior level experience as a systems engineer in a large, complex and performance-sensitive environment
• Strong communication, presentation and customer service skills
• Strong performance analysis, tuning and optimization skills on various hardware platforms
• Experience evaluating hardware, software and custom technology solutions
• Advanced knowledge of Linux-based operating systems (RHCSA or RHCE preferred)
• Deployment experience with operating system imaging and script-based automation solutions
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts and implementations
• Familiarity with data center planning, including structured cabling, power and cooling issues
