Job Description: Test Analyst

Role Description

The Test Analyst will define and execute test plans related to the Asset Resource Management (ARM) Product Suite based on specification documents and ensuring that defects are created and corrected accordingly.

Essential Functions:

- Ensure early and on-going engagement with Design, Development and Project teams

- Analyze test requirements, designs, and produces re-usable test scripts and procedures to test new and amended software to be executed by self and other staff using agreed methods and standards

- Verify test script against business requirements

- Understand and interpret functional and non-functional requirements as needed to develop test cases

- Actively work to identify, communicate, mitigate and resolve testing issues and risks

- Manage test scripts, test cases, test results using standard testing tooling like HP Quality Center

- Produce plans to test the effect of the new and changed software on existing systems

- Assist in the automation effort to develop overtime a full suite of regression tests

- Install software onto test environments, identify if equipment is needed to deliver the test program

- Execute scripts and procedures to test new and amended proprietary software, data configuration, and product integration

- Review test results and modifies tests if necessary

- Monitor progress, and document test failures and successes compared with pre-defined criteria, in accordance with agreed standards

Required Skills

- Minimum five to seven years of quality assurance experience

- Proficient in different project methodology, ie, Agile, Waterfall, etc

- Ability to develop Customer oriented Test Plans

- Substantial experience in planning and executing Test Strategies, Programs, Plans, and Scripts against business requirements

- Solid Experience documenting test results and resolving test errors

- Experience creating functional, regression, and end to end test cases and familiarity with integration testing a must.

- Able to demonstrate technical ability in defining test errors and providing replication steps for development teams

- Ability to work with teams, across time, geographical, and cultural boundaries

- Team player with experience in working in a multi-disciplined IT environment

- Strong interpersonal/communication skills, both oral and written.

- Must be able to identify requirements out of scope and be able to work with business testers in focusing on business requirements within project scope

- Experience using HP Quality Center (or similar tools) to manage and execute test cases and create defects associated with test execution

Desired Skills

- Knowledge and practical application of Asset and Resource Management or EAM software (preferred)

- Knowledge and practical application of automated test products (eg WInRunner, QTP) (preferred)

- Experience testing product solutions (preferred)

- Experience working with off-shore software providers (preferred)
