Job Description: Tibco Spotfire Specialist (Reporting and Development experience)

CGI is currently hiring Tibco Spotfire Specialist with reporting and development experience for our Oil and Gas Practice in Houston, TX to support our client's business users in realizing their needs for data analysis and reporting requirements.

The Spotfire Specialist is the linking pin between the business requirements for data and how to analyze the data on one side and the information in databases and data warehouses on the other side. Where the reporting tools are limited in functionality the reporting specialist need to be able to develop data base warehousing representations to overcome these limitations

The Spotfire Specialist will assess the needs and requirements of the customer, describe and document these, will open up the required data sources, create info links, manage his own work (and sometimes that of others) to realize the required solution from a data perspective. Candidate will enable the end users to work with the data in the Spotfire. Candidate is able to advice on the best tool for a specific business purpose. In his/her work, technical and domain expertise needs to be combined with good contact skills to work with highly analytical and often very demanding and senior business staff.

The Spotfire Specialist has seniority and a wide experience of the border of business and IM/IT, especially in Business Intelligence, and has deep knowledge of Spotfire and SQL (Oracle) to preprocess data or optimize performance. Candidate is analytical and creative, performs well under stress and is able to multitask. The work includes writing of functional documentation, reports and plans.

Reporting consultants have the following
Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of Tibco Spotfire experience, (creating sophisticated visualizations, calculated columns, custom expressions etc)
- Minimum 7 years of Information Management or Technology experience
- Minimum 5 years of database and SQL experience
- Have domain knowledge and experience in oil and gas, finance, etc;
This includes ability to understand the technical language and concepts used to report information
- Good customer facing skills, is able to understand business issues quickly and translate these into solutions on the Spotfire platform
- Experience with extracting and combining different data sources, different databases and data warehouses
- Able to manage his/her own work
- Performs well under stress, while working on several projects in a week

2) Upstream oil & gas knowledge

4) Location: Houston (westside)
