Description:

SAIC is looking for a mid to senior level network engineer to support the Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P). JBC-P is the next iteration of FBCB2 and utilizes many different networking technologies such as IP radio, satellite, and LAN/WAN. The network engineer will provide network design support for a broad range of networks and platforms and must be able to work versatile hours to accomplish JBC-Ps mission. This position will include architectural analysis leading to efficient network design followed by implementation of the designed network is required as well as cross training. Comfort with LAN/WAN configurations, VLANs, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Layer 3 Switching, and Cisco ACL's is a must. Troubleshooting of Cisco Firewalls and security related products (eg, VPN's, GRE, etc) is a strong plus. The network engineer will also perform system administrative duties on Linux/Windows systems. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

:
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4 years of experience in a related field with a broad range of assignments in technical tasks directly related to overall networking and security of medium to large network operations. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills are a must.

DESIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
CCNA, Windows 7 or another Army approved computing environment certification and a baseline certification (Network+ or Security+).
If candidate does not have a computing environment cert and a baseline cert., candidate must receive certification within six months of hire. Army satellite communications, tactical networking, 802.11x, and IP radio experience is also desired.
