Description
Key Role:
Manage and operate a virtualized environment using Windows and Linux systems management in support of the JRDC program. Manage a daily battle-rhythm of checks on the assigned server functionality, including the virtualized environment, view and respond to events reflected in the various management tools, perform server patch management, attend various meetings, such as team, staff, change, and configuration, and participate in forward thinking activities and automating. Perform daily reviews of systems to ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly and execute daily and weekly system health checks. Perform system audit log reviews, as required and coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure. Assist with after-hours maintenance activities and staffing of the IT operations center. Perform other system administrator or engineering duties, including technology research, trade studies and analysis, design, configuration, installation, and testing of IT network Firewall and intrusion detection systems. Maintain responsibility for deriving system-level requirements from customer needs, project objectives, and architectural standards, developing detailed designs with supporting implementation, test, and transition plans, and ushering proposed system changes through the configuration and change management process to the successful implementation and test for transition to operations and maintenance (O&M). This position requires work between 0700 and 1900 and shift work in Huntsville, AL.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-8+ years of experience with information technology
-Experience with managing Windows, LINUX servers, and systems in a large enterprise
-Experience with Windows Server 2003 and 2008R2, file system storage administration, Symantec Netbackup, and SCCM patch management
-Experience with managing virtualized environments
-Experience with networking with emphasis on security
-Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
-Active Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree
-Security+ CE certification or 8570 equivalent
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with VMware setup and configuration
-Experience with configuration control processes
-Knowledge of technologies, including ASA, Netscreen, IDS, Bluecoat, Websense, RRAS, Juniper VPN, and Riverbed
-Ability to work with little supervision in a team environment and quickly adapt to new situations
-Ability to learn new technologies
-Possession of excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
