The Systems Architect Engineer will develop system architecture approaches, proposals and key interaction with customers to provide innovative technical solutions in the defense and aerospace segment. In this role, you will also: Essential Responsibilities:
  • Resident subject matter expert in the utilization of GE-IP solutions in rugged military applications for the aerospace, ground defense and naval systems segments
  • Utilize conceptual and design abilities as part of a team defining rugged/conduction-cooled Military/Aerospace systems (LRUs) and assemblies based upon customer's high-level technical requirements
  • Apply Engineering experience in the conceptual design process. This may entail system level, board-level, mechanical, and software definition
  • Work with Engineering teams as needed to support this process
  • Ability to understand new concepts and other technical details of Military/Aerospace systems quickly
  • Apply technical expertise and commercial skills to direct customer interactions in communicating GE's value proposition and building business cases; includes support for field sales force
  • Interact with product groups within the company and third parties to develop the best solutions to satisfy customer requirements
  • Leading proposal efforts to include providing technical information and developing content. Requires strong proposal writing skills.
  • Coordinate Legal, Finance, Product Management, Program Management and Sales teams to complete all documents requested for a proposal; requires knowledge of government contracting and strong project management skills
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures used in rugged/conduction-cooled Military/Aerospace systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards and their implementation.
  • Direct knowledge and experience with government program lifecycles to include qualification, tech insertion strategies, configuration management, obsolescence management, counterfeit parts avoidance, etc. Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the rugged Military/Aerospace field or in a related technical area
