Based on defined procedures, establishes and administers network servers, hubs, printers, etc. Installs, configures, and documents new distributed systems applications and infrastructures. Analyzes new hardware to determine need or application in existing systems or new systems. Advises on new techniques, cost estimates and bid specifications for acquisition of network equipment and service. Administers network resources, such as user and file management, email and server backup, and patches on all Servers for installed applications. Revises existing systems and procedures in order to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage. Contacts hardware and software vendors for technical support. Works on multiple projects simultaneously.Coordinates the design and selection of IT infrastructure to best utilize all systems without duplication of data or equipment. Maintains current knowledge of IT infrastructure and how it relates to the users. Maintains contact with the author of the host systems for information, assistance, knowledge transfer, best practice recommendations, etc.Organizes all necessary departments regarding implementation of IT equipment. Serves as a resource in techniques and education of IT equipment, functionality, interfaces, etc. to various host systems in the SGHS network. Identifies and isolates problems; recommends and coordinates suitable options for corrections and improvements.Ensures network performance is appropriate and meets the needs of core business processes. Pro-actively monitors and drives changes in user duties and activities so system software and hardware adjustments and upgrades are implemented in a timely manner.Develops and utilizes records pertinent to the installation, inventory, maintenance and ongoing usage of the PC/Network systems. Maintains network directory structure to optimize system organization and eliminate unused and outdated files.Administers established standards and procedures for installation, maintenance and backup and recovery of systems and application software. Responsible for ensuring response and communication is timely and appropriate.To reduce inconsistencies between databases, hardware or software, investigates proactively and communicates opportunities where additional standardization, interfaces, or upgrades are needed.Completes assigned tasks per defined project scope, timeline, and budgets for implementations. Works to prescribed methodologies for all project implementations. Ability to work on multiple implementations and/or projects at any given time. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Interviewing and listening skills to talk with individuals and groups. Analytical skills to critically evaluate the information. Organizational skills to validate data obtained and expose new areas for process improvement. Interpersonal skills to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts.Other: Typical hours worked are Monday ' Friday 8: 00 ' 5: 00. IT positions are dynamic, require on-call hours and sometimes require flexible work schedules outside these parameters.
