We are searching for qualified candidates for an excellent Contract to Hire opportunity as a Host Administrator. Thisindividual will be supporting the host and current environment. Some SQL and Active Directory is needed. Working with the Oracle DBA for troubleshooting.
Servers:
- Windows 2003 and 2008 x 64bit platform
- Experience installing software via MSI or Windows Installer
- Familiarity with RDC interface, Preferably RDC Manager
- Understanding of Host Server Services and how they are manipulated (stopped, started)
- Understanding of Windows Task Manager, and how to identify running processes, and stop running processes
- Ability to open different files in different types of editors for reading or modifying
- Ability to troubleshoot issues by scanning and comparing log files, many at a time
- Familiarity with Windows registry and System files
- Navigation through folder structures
- Familiarity with setting, and understanding folder permissions
- Creating, copying, moving, deleting files
Database:
- Good working knowledge of Oracle 10g 11g, including schemas, tables, table spaces, triggers, and constraints
- Good working knowledge of SQL
- High level of expertise with Toad 11 or greater, or another readily available database tool like SQL Developer
Software:
- Basic working knowledge of IIS, and web proxies
- Basic Understanding of Secure Socket communications and the role of security certificates.
- Understanding of how to install and bind security certificates
- MS Office: Well versed on all 2010 tools, familiarity with 2013 tools a plus
- Ability to read and understand, possibly edit well formed XML
- Some experience with some form of Scripting language, or class base coding language (Vb.NET, C#.net, Java J2EE)
- Some experience with MS Visual Studio2010 (additional 2008 experience a plus)
Certifications:
- Microsoft Windows Server Certifications for operation or administration
- Oracle Database Certifications for Data Objects, Referential Integrity, Data Modeling, etc. (mostly dealing with structures or development, not tuning or performance)
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent training/education required
- Entry level to 2 years' experience
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time
- Broad knowledge of IT, configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and Internet directory services software, etc.
