Prestigious holding company is looking for a Manager of Global SAP Application Delivery. This individual will manage six SAP Business Analysts and some ABAP Developers. This company deals with a lot of global manufacturing/distribution companies. Individual must have experience with SAP R3 ECC6, functional in ECC modelling, SD, WM, FICO, PP, MM, BW experience with EDI integration with SAP. Must know ABAP Development. Looking for someone with 5+ years management experience and someone who is ok with 15% travel. Prefer someone who has international company experience and offshore experience.
SUMMARY:
This is a working manager position supporting the global SAP application(s). The Manager will work alongside SAP business Analyst Team as well as the ABAP Developers' driving improvement in company's business systems using analytical tools, knowledge of best practices and a continuing study of new technologies and processes to design systems and processes that improve productivity, streamline business functions and solve problems identified by the business. The Manager will develop and implement a management strategy for Business Analyst/Development teams that will ensure for effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring of Business Analysts/Developers throughout the organization. The Manager will also institute and ensure for the adherence of defined performance objectives, goals, and growth opportunities for Business Analysts/Developers making recommendations for staff augmentation when appropriate. S/he will balance requirements against available resources and ensure that service level expectations are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic
- Contribute to overall strategic vision and integrates a broad range of ideas regarding SAP implementation and support.
- Seek out opportunities for business process improvement with a focus on improved use of system functionality/usability.
- Analyze business requirements and identify relevant SAP solution alternatives.
- Evaluate business and system impact of proposed changes to the SAP environment.
- Ensure business continuity by conducting change reviews and managing the release of new functionality in the system(s).
- Maintain a consistently high level of communication with other areas of IT, specifically EDI, Business Relationship Managers, Management and Infrastructure.
Tactical
- Coordinate activity and manage department resources in support of application projects across multiple time zones.
- Make recommendations to management when requirements outpace resources.
- When necessary, coordinate activity and distribution of work load between internal and external resources.
- Mentor staff and foster an environment of personal and professional growth among the team members.
- Manage resource availability, conduct performance appraisals and participate in the hiring process for staff.
- Approve technical specifications for system enhancements and assign resources for subsequent system configuration/development.
- Interact regularly with users to ensure they understand and are making full use of the system capabilities.
- Troubleshoot user problems, recommend and implement solutions.
Technical
1. Provide problem solving complex development requirements.
2. Ensure coordinated development efforts across functional areas.
3. Ensure that cross functional impact of configuration changes is analyzed and thoroughly tested before changes are released.
4. Ensure that custom development meets authorization management requirements.
5. Approve transports in the SAP ECC landscape and assist with R/3 security & authorization implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of 7 years SAP configuration and implementation experience
2. Minimum 3 years' experience managing teams of 5 plus people.
3. Multiple full life cycle SAP R/3 implementations, one of which is an ECC6 implementation.
4. ABAP Development Knowledge
5. Functional experience in any of the following ECC modules: SD, WM, FI/CO, PP, MM, BW.
6. Experience with EDI integration with SAP.
7. Strong business acumen, preferably in finance or the manufacturing and distribution area.
8. Must have good analytical, statistical and problem solving skills.
9. Sound judgment and decision making skills. Strong work ethic.
10. Excellent interpersonal/customer relation skills; excellent verbal and written communications; ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
11. Ability to direct and recommend cost-effective creative solutions.
12. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality.
13. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
14. ITIL understanding a plus.
15. Education - Bachelor's degree.
16. International and domestic travel: 15%.
