We have been retained by a Consumer Industry client in Northwest Chicago in search of a Systems Development Manager - eCommerce. This position manages the activities of technical personnel in support of the company's eCommerce application to ensure uninterrupted operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a liaison to eCommerce infrastructure and services vendors.
  • Monitor infrastructure to insure 24x7 availability and performance of eCommerce site.
  • Oversee development of eCommerce web application functionality.
  • Evaluate business requirements for technical feasibility and eCommerce best practices.
  • Estimate, plan, track and provide status on technical projects and activities.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks. Be a primary problem solving resource.
  • Oversee the technical work of vendor consultants and consulting teams.
  • Define and enforce company technical standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate technology vendors and products.
  • Develop, improve and enforce software development processes.
  • Supervise the performance of systems analysis and programming functions.
  • Plan the level of resources needed in each function and provide for the selection and training of adequate personnel.
  • Review and approve proposed systems solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Related Field.
  • Minimum experience includes ten years in Information Technology, three years managing an eCommerce site, and five years of developing and deploying eCommerce applications in a high availability environment.
  • eCommerce capabilities and process flows, preferably in a B2B business environment (catalog management, user profiling, etc.)
  • Web application development (.NET, C#).
  • Internet and networking technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, XML, RSS, AJAX, etc.).
  • Software engineering methodologies.
  • Version control and release management practices.
  • Development and deployment of applications on Windows.
  • Load testing, profiling and performance tuning.
  • Strong written and oral communications, coaching/counseling, software quality assurance, and the use of automated project management and systems design tools.

Salary of $100,000 with exceptional benefits, including 15% Bonus.
