Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) Subject Matter Expert (SME). Candidates should be experienced engineers who want to be part of taking HDFS to the next level of functionality, stability, and enterprise readiness. Engineers will act in a pre or post sales role. You will be working on exciting developments in the Hadoop distributed file system that currently runs on thousands of nodes and tens of petabytes of storage. This is an opportunity to join the team that created and wrote the majority of Hadoop code and make a huge impact on the big data and cloud computing industry.
Requirements:
- Experience with system software design and development with strong understanding of computer architecture, storage and IO subsystems, and distributed systems.
- Hands on programmer, strong in data structures and programming practices
- File systems and distributed systems experience desirable
- Java/C++ experience is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an engineering team
Experience and Education:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering. Masters or PhD desirable.
- Over 5 years experience in systems software
- Familiarity with Apache Hadoop (principal open-source Cloud Computing platform for storing, managing, processing and analysing Big Data)
- Candidates should be excited and demonstrated efforts to help build the Hadoop Ecosystem
- Comfortable with light regional travel (most interaction can be done via WebEx)
