Job Description: Wintel Technicial System Engineer
CGI US Tier 1 Operations organization is currently looking for a Senior Wintel Administrator to support our Windows/Cloud based server environments within our Data Centers. (This position will be located on the client site)
Responsibilities for this role would include:
o Install, configure, maintain and support Windows Server NT and 2003/2008 operating systems software for all local and remote systems.
o Design hardware configurations and conduct hardware capacity planning for Windows 2003/2008 based systems
o Install, evaluate and maintain service packs, hot-fixes and security patches on Windows 2003/2008 operating system and Microsoft application suites (Office, IE).
o Carry out modifications and upgrades for software/hardware on Wintel systems in accordance with Change Control Procedures - (following CGI's Change Control process is considered a condition of employment when hiring)
o Analyze and resolve problems that may arise during the course of normal operations
o Participate in department initiatives for Problem, Change Management and Contingency Planning as required
o VMware Administration on various platforms
o VMware assessments/design and implementation
o Design hardware configurations and conduct hardware capacity planning for VMware environment
o Install, evaluate and maintain service packs, hot-fixes and security patches on VMware systems
o Carry out modifications and upgrades for software/hardware on VMware systems in accordance with Change Control Procedures - (following CGI's Change Control process is considered a condition of employment when hiring)
o Analyze and resolve problems that may arise during the course of normal operations
Essential Skills Required
Technical:
o Extensive working experience in Large Enterprise environments
o Extensive working experience with project based solutions for our client community.
o Extensive working experience in administering, engineering, designing VMware solutions solutions and the application of Group and security policy in a heterogeneous networking environments
o Minimum 3 years solid working experience on VMware Platforms
o Minimum 5 years practical experience as a Senior Windows 2003/2008 systems engineer
o Extensive working experience with project based solutions for our client community.
o Extensive working experience of Client Server architecture and data access using NT and Windows 2000/2003 technology
o Administration knowledge/experience with the following -
-Citrix
-Vmware - hyperV
-Linux
-Active Directory and GPO mgmt
-PC, server, tape backup hardware support (dell, HP)
-SAN (HP & dell)/Backups
-Network/LAN troubleshooting
-Disaster recovery
-SCCM/WSUS
Non-Essential Skills
- Experience with vCloud director
- Experience with VMware Scripting
