This position will directly work with Delta's manufacturing plants and supply chain groups to ensure IT support. This position manages the relationship between the manufacturing plant end users/customers and information technology, and maintains communication channels between user groups and IT support staff, both internal and external. The incumbent collaborates with business stakeholders and ensures high quality, on-time deliverables. This person also ensures seamless communication between and among the project teams and the business stakeholders. The BA manages multiple priorities and must be highly organized, motivated, and possess a sense of urgency to get things done. The BA collaborates with business functions to drive the appropriate use of technology - using technology to maximize efficiency & customer service, and to serve as a competitive advantage for the organization. The BA must continually challenge herself/himself, others, and the system in order to accomplish these goals. This position reports to the Business Analysis Manager.
Principal Accountabilities:
Consults with internal customers, defines the business processes involved in the functional area, and gains an understanding of the area's information and technology needs
Collaborates with the customer to determine how the business process can change and improve from a technology standpoint. Conducts regular reviews with user departments, evaluating areas for improvement
Acts as leader and takes ownership of the entire application project management lifecycle
Performs research, attends relevant conferences and seminars, and works with product vendors. Recommends technology and software solutions, creates a business case for the solution, and presents recommendations to the decision-making persons
Provides for application analysis, functional design, application development, testing and training for end users. Trouble shoots and coordinates with support staff to resolve problems in application environments
Fosters the development of a super user concept to extend the reach of applications support
Manages project solutions and meets users' needs in a timely, reliable, and cost effective manner
Coordinates with IS support staff to provide the highest possible levels of system availability, exceeding end-user requirements
Participates in the departmental budgeting process
Good knowledge of JDEdwards manufacturing applications is a must. Experience with DSI, loftware, Factory Planner, or Demantra preferred.
Education and Experience/Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 6-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree is a plus. This person must have highly developed and effective leadership and communication (written and oral) skills. Must be able to build a cohesive team, serve as a role model, and enable others to act. Candidates must have demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout her/his professional experiences. Must possess both business knowledge and a thorough understanding of technology. Must be customer focused. Frequent domestic travel of 25-35% is required.
