The Applications Architect - Integrations will be responsible for defining, formalizing and enforcing secure, scalable and reliable integration architecture and integration solutions for Broadcom application portfolio. This individual will be responsible for the reference architecture, patterns and governance model for the ESB, SOA, and B2B practices through taking architectural ownership of existing and emerging technologies utilized by the Enterprise Application team. As the member of Application Architecture team the Architect will also contribute into continuous evolution of methodologies and disciplines in the space of general solution architecture, development standards and best practices, technology evaluations and solution definitions. This individual will also be initiating and participating in the evaluation and selection process for various technologies and solutions to be considered for utilization at Broadcom, summarizing and providing recommendations to the upper management.
This position is a key role for Broadcom's integration and standardization initiative.
Responsibilities:
Leadership in designing, implementing and evolving of highly available, scalable and reliable integration architecture
Significant contribution in all areas related application and solution architecture - standards, governance, evaluations, recommendations, strategic direction
Establishing, socializing and enforcing integration patterns
Establishing, socializing and driving adoption of the SOA Governance Lifecycle & Model
Standardize on integration approaches for variety of business requirements
Articulate integration standards, decisions, and guidelines to management, development and operations teams
Drive technology evaluation, selection, and implementation decisions in integration area
Define processes for application integration development lifecycle
Prepare technical requirements documentation, perform code reviews, and participate in debugging and testing as needed

Required Skills:
Ten+ years of hands-on experience in IT industry, including application development and integrationSix+ years of experience as an application architect, focusing on integration and contributing in other areas of application and solution architecture (governance, standards, strategic direction, best practices, technology selection)
Four years of experience with IBM WebSphere application integration stack (WMB/WESB, WMQ, WSRR) preferred, similar experience with integration stacks from other vendors will be considered
Proven experience in areas of integration security, high availability, scalability, testing, monitoring and governance
Practical experience implementing SOA concepts, knowledge of Web Services and core specifications related to it
Experience with ETL, B2B and MFT solutions
Hands-on experience with SAP integration is preferred
Hands-on experience with Access Management, Single Sign On implementations is preferred
Deep understanding of communication protocols, integration patterns and standards
Understanding of networking, security, hardware platforms, operating systems (Windows, Linux), RDBMS (MSSQL, Oracle), virtualization concepts, and storage solutions
Experience with application performance management solutions (ITCAM, CA Willy, SCOM)
Background in full life-cycle application development
Development experience with J2EE, Microsoft.NET Experience implementing integration solutions for fast-paced technology companies is preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently producing high quality deliverables
Experience of working with geographically dispersed and diverse teamsEducational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or software engineering is required. Master's Degree is preferred
