The Lead Software Engineer will be a key member of the engineering team responsible for developing platform components for internal teams and external customers. You will be working on an Agile Scrum team and reporting to the software development lead located in Irving, TX. Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:

  • Design, build, integrate, and test product backlog items (features) into high quality shippable software
  • Identify and call out roadblocks to delivering software
  • Keep skills up-to-date through self-learning
  • Participate in regular team reviews and retrospectives to identify and fix gaps in our development process
  • Assist other development teams and customer support with technical issues
  • Act in conjunction with the program and product managers release criteria and quality objectives
  • Ensure review of processes, procedures, quality objectives, QMS, and tools
  • Identify resource requirements for quality assurance tasks; identify test hardware requirements
  • Provide technical direction for the Quality and Testing groups Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of robust experience in current technologies, including HTML, J2EE, Struts, Spring, EJB, XML, and AJAX Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with Agile Development using Scrum
  • Experience with Atlassian suite - Jira, Confluence, and Bamboo
  • Experience with software applications in the manufacturing, transportation, or infrastructure (power, water, mining, etc.) industries
  • Experience with Messaging Frameworks, Services Hosts, and Service Bus
  • Experience with SSO (single sign-on), responsive web design, private versus SaaS approaches, SOAP or REST web services
  • Experience developing software products using Oracle and SQL Servers
  • Experience working within an ISO-certified development process
  • Exposure to Microsoft Technologies, .NET, DCOM, ATL, VC++, VB, SQL Server, Internet Technologies, SOA, Java, JBOSS, or XML
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
