Taleris is seeking a Solution Architect to provide technical leadership and governance for teams developing and integrating components of an integrated airline services network product, with a particular emphasis on defining target solutions within the context of an Enterprise Architecture and associated platform roadmap. Essential Responsibilities: The Solution Architect will work with the Chief Architect, associated subject matter experts and business stakeholders to define solution architectures then drive their realization through proactive communication (including formal specification) to delivery teams and on-going participation in design/development reviews. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall product strategy. With an acute understanding of integration technologies, standards and virtualized infrastructures (to-be cloud based) the scope of solutions orientate around Integration of airline and aircraft data for processing by proprietary analytic services all deployed upon on a strategic platform being developed for the GE corporation.

In addition, you will:

  • Gain in-depth understanding of product line platforms and architectures in order to develop and drive product architecture framework, standards, and development environments for engineering execution
  • Determine and drive vision for future platform development to deliver a better-integrated product portfolio in more cost-effective manner, maximizing opportunities for commonality across product lines
  • Take ownership of the infrastructure roadmap, baseline and specification to align with the overall product strategy and delivery to customers
  • Interface with multiple organizations to resolve product integration/implementation issues and determine appropriate application of our technologies Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in scalable, services, or object-oriented multi-tier software architecture and associated development technologies Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.   • Architecture Method: Proven usage and leadership of industry standard architectural approaches focused on model driven development and languages such as UML. Practical experience working with associated modeling tools such as Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect
  • Delivery Method: Proven usage and leadership for architecture development within the context of Agile Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) aligned to product development and maintenance
  • Complex Systems Integration: Proven experience developing solutions that integrate disparate solution components that follow a service oriented approach based on a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) and associated enterprise platform
  • Solution Delivery: Through-life experience to include requirements solicitation, architecture gap analysis, solution (service) specification and implementation governance
  • Infrastructure Specification: Follow a model driven approach to specify and maintain target infrastructures for given non-functional requirements that endure whilst reflecting the constraints of the business (commercial and technical) and its customers
  • Enterprise Architecture: Practical experience working with and contributing to an Architecture Framework that is used to govern product architecture and individual solutions (contexts) based on this
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, and at all levels (business through technical) to gain consensus for unified approaches and solutions whilst observing organizational constraints
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and guide development teams as an individual contributor in a globally distributed organization
  • Technology: Practical experience delivering solutions based on Open Source, Microsoft .NET and/or J2EE technology stacks and with an emphasis on messaging (eg MQ ) an integration technologies and associated standards
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science Engineering
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification (GE Employees only)
