Position Description:
This person must have a diverse background of technology experience and be a point of contact for escalation of issues and changes being introduced by the application and infrastructure teams. This position reports directly to the Manager of Production Services.
Provide Production Support Management services for on-going application and infrastructure enhancements and severe production outages
Coordinate the identification of high risk changes, identify root cause and provide reporting
Maintain application/infrastructure monitoring utilizing BMC ProactiveNet: installation/configuration of ProactiveNet Server/Agents, device discovery, custom monitor wizards, detailed diagnostics, alarm establishment, automated SLA and Compliance Reporting and Threshold Management
Manage 24x7 technical/production support team for application and infrastructure severe outages
Expertise working with distributed/mainframe infrastructure technology groups, business community and Enterprise Data Center Operations
Develop Production Support Governance Intranet site (Sharepoint and InfoPath) which includes repository for Incident Management, Knowledgebase, Lessons Learned, Best Practices, Change and Outage communication templates, and Project Status reporting.
Manage on-going application and infrastructure enhancement initiatives including system software upgrades, hardware upgrades, SAN storage, VM deployment, Blade servers, and Citrix farms.
Monitor Change pipeline to ensure service impact and change related faults are minimized.
Enhance and institute safeguards/standards to improve stability of a large production environment to prevent outage reoccurrence (change management enhancements, infrastructure reviews, application Quality Assurance)
Provide coordination, escalation, root cause identification for severe application/infrastructure production outages.
Position Requirements
Excellent communications skills, well versed in the use of the MS Office Suite of products. Capable of drawing out information to help resolve an issue in a relative short period of time. Experienced with evaluating risks and determining the appropriate course of action.
