External Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE:
As a member of the Plant Executive Team, aligns site IT initiatives with Corporate, North America and Site strategic goals.
Most senior person from IT at the site. Represents IT across multiple functions/groups in an account manager type of role.
Works with Global Architecture and Global Infrastructure teams to help design and then implement application roadmap, procure infrastructure services, procure development services as needed to support the location.
Recommends and develops plans for systems development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budget, and staffing.
Use subject area and business knowledge to provide input, and oversight regarding strategic site initiatives such as AIM, APS, 5S.
Develops, implements, and monitors Management Information System policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Manages all aspects of system development and operations at site in coordination with North America and Corporate IT Staff.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:
Participation in functional and regional roadmap activities, implementation of solutions per roadmap
IT Budgets and IT Capital Plans for site
Operational support of site related to telecommunications and computer systems
System Availability
Recovery Plans
Delivery of IT applications services/projects
Sarbanes Oxley Compliance
FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of technology that supports manufacturing and other plant processes.
Requisite knowledge and communication skills to work with plant leadership on planning, budgeting, prioritization and alignment to overall architecture.
Project management knowledge/experience
BUSINESS EXPERTISE:
Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
Understanding of the all aspects of the site business to include all departments and how IT departmental performance affects site performance.
LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
Manages IT staff employees and contractors.
Responsible for establishing staff goals/objectives and performance appraisals and compensation.
Budget responsibility for staff and other IT expenses.
Works with infrastructure team to deliver infrastructure services to the location
NATURE OF IMPACT:
Key point of contact from IT for aligning plant to strategic projects, application roadmap, IT policies, processes and governance.
Responsible for all aspects of IT for the site. This includes development, implementation and operational responsibility for all plant IT systems that control/enable daily plant operations. These systems have a direct impact on plant productivity, costs and profitability.
Serves as subject matter expert for the facility on IT issues.
Accountable for departmental budget.
Sets and/or manages policies for department.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Requires ability to influence upwards as well as other leadership at the plant.
Communicates with employees at all levels of the site organization both within IT and outside of IT.
Ongoing communication with corporate IT staff.
Requires oral and written communication of complex and detailed information.
Requires team building and collaboration skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
BS or higher in Information Technology, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Product Development or related field.
Minimum six to ten years experience in IT, manufacturing, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field.
Experience with ERP, MRP and MES systems.
Experience with a variety of hardware and software products.
