The Sales Manager will be responsible for discovery of sales opportunities, selection and presentation of Controls and Excitation Solutions to end user customers in the Southern Region (Sales Market segments include Hydro, Gas and Steam Turbine Power Generation and Compression Applications in Utility, Municipality, Paper, Refining, Petrochemical, and other Industrial Facilities). Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:

  • Provide technical and commercial support to Power Services and Industrial Sales Managers in the Southern Region as required
  • Assist in proposal preparation and delivery, provide technical information and process other customer requests for controls information
  • Be responsible for a predefined dollar amount of control solution orders, sales, and contribution margin within existing installed base of rotating equipment Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Rotating Equipment, DCS Systems or Power Plant Equipment

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 50% of the time, as required Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.   • Knowledge of power plant controls
  • Prior sales experience or significant customer interaction
  • Ability to generate immediate credibility with customers, other sales people and factory application engineers
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Self-starter with high energy level
  • Controls and/or Excitation field engineering experience
  • Technical sales experience
  • Six Sigma/E-Business experience (GE Employees only)
