Description:
SAIC is actively looking for GREEN FLAG Tactical Data Link Engineer to provide expert technical, operational, and analytical support to sustain the current missions of 57th Operations Group. Exercise GREEN FLAG provides a training venue to joint United States and coalition aircrew, air liaison officers, joint terminal attack controllers, battle management personnel and weapons system operators in the planning and execution of joint air ground operations in counter-land operations. The primary purpose of contractor support is to provide tactical data link/joint interface control officer expertise for personnel throughout exercise battle cycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Integrate with the four (4) GREEN FLAG location operations planning teams as required to provide exercise life-cycle planning support as defined by the four (4) location Directors of Operations. This planning support will include: Presentation preparation and SME support at D-180 and D-90 planning conferences; tanker and visiting unit scheduling; pre-exercise leadership briefing development; and master air attack plan development. This planning support encompasses the entire 180-270 day planning cycle of each GREEN FLAG exercise
- Responsible for operational level management and operate as the liaison between the GREEN FLAG programs and collateral level entities of the Theater Air Control System (TACS) Air Operations Center (AOC).
- Utilize current combat equipment as well as various training venues, the Contractor shall enhance tactical and operational realistic training.
- Support at Fort Irwin and Fort Polk shall provide Ground Track Manager (GTM) support to GREEN FLAG.
- Manage all technical aspects of the ASOC Gateway and data link interfaces to provide an accurate and consolidated air picture to GREEN FLAG ASOCs, as required.
- Duties shall include loading COMSEC keying material, initializing, configuring and operating appropriate data link equipment, troubleshooting degraded datalinks and/or associated data link equipment, injecting datalink tracks and messages ( J and other messages) as required, provide accurate and timely air picture with call signs, comply with Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) directed mandates and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for operation of link equipment (ie Link 16/Situational Awareness Data Link), identify and report Gateway equipment deficiencies, capture data to include in after action reviews and operator level preventive maintenance inspections (PMI).
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree, or Associates degree and 5 years' experience, or 8 years' experience in US military air/ground operations
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum four (4) years of experience as ASOC Digital Gateway Operator and/or Joint Interface Control Officer'
Minimum four (4) years of experience with DoD training networks and ASOC specific hardware and software
