System Administrator

Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a System Administrator to join our client in New York, NY.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for activities related to Sr. Systems Administration functions such as installing, configuring and maintaining Solaris and Linux Servers in support of business processing requirements.
- Responsible for the integrity of the server infrastructure.
- Define and create procedures for supporting and monitoring of multiple system environments.
- Directing other team members and may act as a project coordinator. Has operational experience in support of the administration of mission-critical environment.
- Troubleshoot and solve complex problems of a project.
- Direct other team members.
- Makes technical recommendations to correct issues and makes recommendations for long term solutions.

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in Solaris and Red Hat/CentOS.
- Must have experience in the following:
- Solaris 10 (installing and updating).
- Patching and live updates.
- Zones.
- Repurposing Servers.
- Entry, mid and high level Servers.
- Both old and new server lines.
- SVM and Veritas.
- Configuring Virtual interfaces.
- Both SPARC and x86 Servers.
- SAR and auditing.
- Scripting in at least two languages (Shell, Perl, Ruby, Perl & C).
- Financial experience in an operational role within a mission-critical environment.

Preferred experience in the following:
- SOX.
- Solaris and Red Hat/Linux internals experience.
- Capacity planning.
- Databases and web Servers.
- IDM (Novell).
- HIDS.
- BMC products.
- Writing code in any one of the following: C, C++, or Java.
