Description:
ATK Aerospace Systems leads the industry in solid rocket propulsion systems, satellite components and subsystems, lightweight space deployables and solar arrays. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of our nation's capabilities in space.

ATK Space Systems Division is seeking a Flight Software (FSW) Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test and document Embedded spacecraft FSW.

Responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and document Embedded software programs using C/C++ on VxWorks Real Time operating system.
- Develop design documentation and presentations for work products to support peer reviews and major design reviews.
- Develop Embedded device drivers for memory and I/O boards.
- Support the task lead to coordinate schedule and deliverables.
- Support test bed development and operation.
- Develop ground tools and utilities to facilitate flight software configuration and operations (ie Command & telemetry (C&T) database, flight software configuration table tools, etc.).
- Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products.
- Works with system lead to develop test scenarios, conduct verification and validation test procedures and analysis of test results.

Minimum Requirements:
- BSCS, BSCE, BSEE or other directly relevant Bachelors degree required.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a B.S., or 2 years with a M.S.
- Position can be filled one level lower with a B.S. and a minimum of 1.5 years of relevant experience or a M.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required Government issued Security Clearance up to and including a Top Secret/SCI and Polygraph is required, which usually requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.
- Some travel anticipated.

Preferred Skills:
- Relevant experience in the software development process in an Embedded development environment.
- Experience in the aerospace industry performing Flight Software development and testing. General understanding of space vehicle Embedded software, Command and Telemetry protocols and space to ground communication formats.
- Proficiency with working in a VxWorks and C/C++ development environment using Wind River Workbench or MS Visual Studio.
- Strong understanding of OO and design pattern principles. Knowledge of LabView, C# or other computer languages and Scripting languages are desired.
- Experience using JTAG Emulators and Bus Analyzers (1553 & cPCI).
- Must possess good understanding of hardware/software interfaces.
- Working knowledge of VHDL, Discrete I/O, Synchronous and Asynchronous I/O, Mil-STD-1553B and CAN protocols are a plus.
- Disciplined in the use of software versioning control tools and issue tracking tools. Working knowledge of Subversion and JIRA are desirable.
- Active Top Secret/SCI and Polygraph
