Description:

Software Application Engineer will be responsible for building, debugging, testing and deploying a standalone and web-based Java applications. He/She should possess and demonstrate strong technical knowledge of software design and engineering processes. Candidate will develop solutions to critical software architecture problems and broad design issues. Will determine system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters to meet customer requirements and hardware/software compatibility. Creating, executing and documenting the tests necessary to ensure that an application or technical environment meets performance requirements (technical, functional and user interface). Maintaining, tuning and repairing applications in order to maintain performance according to technical and functional specifications. He/She will often be expected to work confidently in a terminal command line environment executing code on the Red Hat and Mac OS X operating systems.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science and three (3) years of related software experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience must include Java, Java Web Technologies, SQL, Linux/Unix, and Windows.
- Must have a working understanding of Tomcat.
- Possess a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Possess excellent time management, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and technical skills.
- Must be team-oriented, communicate clearly and effectively, and demonstrate the ability to work well with others in a creative and collaborative environment.
- Work well independently or within a team.
- Ability to work effectively in multitask environment.

DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with writing aircraft software.
- One of the following certifications: Java, Red Hat, or Windows.
- Experience with the following software is desired: JavaFX, Hibernate, Spring, JavaScript, C#, C++, .NET, Flash/Flex, Ant/Maven, Adobe Creative Suite, Oracle/MySQL Relational Database Systems (RDBMS), Solaris, Red Hat, VMware (ie, Fusion or Workstation), Unix Bash Shell scripting.
- Experience with software CM and/or all levels of CMMI are preferred.
- Experience reviewing CDRL is desired.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
