About the Opportunity
Epsilon is a leading provider of multi-channel marketing services, technologies and database solutions. A subsidiary of Alliance Data (NYSE: ADS), Epsilon is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with a balance of skills in database design, physical implementation and performance tuning to work out of our Wakefield, MA location supporting large-scale Oracle databases for hosted Database Marketing Systems.

Responsibilities
* Oversee large scale production environments running Oracle 11g/Oracle 11g RAC on Linux and AIX
* Perform Oracle database administration tasks including software installation, configuration and space management, backup and recovery, and performance optimization on several client engagements
* Follow best practices for availability, security, backup and recovery, and integrity of client databases
* Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support through on-call rotation. Pager duty will be required
* Participate in database infrastructure and future-state design planning and implementation
* Understand upcoming software development and plan related database-changes
* Contribute to formulating and documenting company database standards, guidelines and operational procedures
* Support users, tune and troubleshoot data access applications and ad hoc queries
* Interact with vendor support to ensure open issues are resolved within defined SLA
* Evaluate new database technologies and products and recommend to technical management

Qualifications
* 5-10 years of experience in database administration, with at least 3 years of experience managing and maintaining production Oracle RAC databases
* Understanding of Data Warehousing architecture and concepts and expertise working with large-scale databases
* Deep knowledge of Oracle 11g technology, strong RAC/clustering, RMAN, and Data Guard experience
* Proficiency in Oracle Grid Control, OEM, backup and recovery techniques
* Strong knowledge or SQL, Unix/Linux and Shell scripting
* Proficiency in troubleshooting, performance tuning and SQL optimization
* Ability to diagnose problems and resolve issues across various tiers (application, database, network, server and storage)
* Knowledge of data migration, data archiving and data access techniques
* Adherence to SDLC, Change Management, troubleshooting and development methodologies
* Self-starter and be able to perform work with minimal supervisory direction
* Extremely detail-oriented with strong analytical problem solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education/Certification

B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience required. Oracle certification is a plus.
