LMI is actively seeking candidates for the position of Junior Application Developer. This demanding and challenging position requires a unique blend of concentrated IT knowledge, superb critical thinking skills, and exceptional analytic abilities. You will be an integral member of a dedicated group of IT professionals who work on the most modern software platforms.
As a Junior Application Developer, you will draw upon your experience and education to learn: software design, database design, program coding, application testing/troubleshooting, and implementation activities using Microsoft .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and other technologies.
Additionally, the Junior Application Developer must have great interpersonal skills and have the desire to collaborate with team members.
Your thoughts and ideas will be welcomed, as you actively collaborate with project teams within LMI by participating in stand-up meetings, and design sessions with project teams.
Other sought after skills include the ability to identify new and emerging development trends and tools that may be applied to development projects; author deliverables such as application code, reports, unit tests, and software/hardware requirements; ensure integrity of data by limiting access to database tables; maintain current knowledge regarding software trends and programming through continuing education classes, printed publications, and the Internet.
No two days are ever the same, so the ideal candidate will be flexible to ever changing priorities and contribute to non-business hours IT support when required.
Bottom line, we are looking for a person who doesn't just write code, they live it !
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience/Training:
Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of professional or education experience using:
- Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET Framework (C# is preferred)
- WinForm and/or Web Development
- Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or higher)
- Creating and Optimizing Stored Procedures
- Creating and Maintaining Indexes and Views
Knowledge:
- Advanced understanding of OO and experience with Source Code Control and Unit Testing.
- Proficient knowledge of the software development life cycle, practices, and methodology.
- Understanding of common troubleshooting methods and debugging tools.
