Systems Software Engineer

The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and test automation systems for the Systems and Solutions Business. This includes hardware design, software design and development, panel build support, lab testing, environmental testing and system startup at customer sites or onboard U.S. Navy vessels.

Technical Functions:

• Design control panels for PLC and drive systems with guidance from other senior engineers.
• Support the panel build function at the integration center.
• Design and implement software for PLCs and HMIs based on customer requirements.
• Plan and execute military specified environmental tests.
• Commission control and drive systems at customer sites or onboard U.S. Navy vessels.
• Have the ability to quickly learn and articulate the features and benefits of new products and solutions.
• Have a good understanding of industry specific applications, engineering principles and how to apply them.
• Develop an understanding to the customer's environment and our ability to provide solutions.
• Develop written engineering and application guidelines for systems and solutions with respect to their specific industry.
• Assist proposal teams as a subject matter expert.
• Establish specifications from a customer's broad description of the machine operation or the customer process.

Other Requirements:

• Must understand the U.S. federal government marketplace
• Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance (Top Secret)
