Description:

The Network Engineer will perform network engineering on a broad range of programs providing overall support for various data networks. Tasks involve the full system engineering life-cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, and implementation. More specifically, the Network Engineer provides design, testing, and implementation of SAIC and SAIC customers' LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) equipment.

Duties include performing product evaluations and engineering trade studies and making recommendations to internal customers for their data, voice and video networks. Will supervise and/or perform the installation, configuration, and testing of LAN/WAN environments and interface as necessary with vendors to resolve system configurations, integration problems, and other issues. Will interface and work closely with the Network Security organizations as well other IT groups. Will provide Tier 3 level troubleshooting support for the Corporate data network (SAICnet).

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field is required. Must have 6+ years of strong experience in and demonstrated knowledge of network theory and systems. 6+ years of experience in Cisco LAN/WAN design, implementation, and maintenance. Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, multiple communication protocols, Intranet and the Internet. Advanced knowledge of routing protocols, EIGRP, BGP and policy routes. Experience with MPLS WAN technology.

Familiarity with Remedy ticket application.
Experience supporting multiple vendors such as Cisco, Brocade (Foundry), and Aruba wireless.
Project management skills desired
