Technical Support Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join our client in Miami, FL.

Duration: Approximately 12 months.

Pay Range: Up to $ 37.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide effective phone support to service group personnel related to instrument hardware and software performance and service part ordering.
- Review products and design and distribute troubleshooting aids for field personnel.
- Document and distribute technical information regarding resolutions to field problems, hardware and software changes, and product quality improvements.
- Determine appropriate preventive maintenance procedures, parts kits, and schedules to ensure effective on-going instrument maintenance.
- Review service manual documentation to ensure accuracy and current revision levels.
- Communicate discrepancies to manufacturer as required.
- Develop and provide service-training programs for assigned products to ensure adequate field and in-house support.
- Provide on-site support as required to ensure quality of new instrument installations and timely resolution of escalated service events.
- Provide service support, including repair and preventive maintenance, for in-house instrumentation and document all service activities in customer file.
- Initiate complaint inquiries with manufacturer as required by divisional standard operating procedures. Monitor open inquiry status and follow up to ensure timely closure.
- Review failure trend analysis data for each product assigned. Identify failure trends and report them to management and/or manufacturer for resolution.
- Perform in-house testing of hardware and software changes prior to distribution. Ensure that all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.

Job Qualifications:
- A Bachelor´s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, field service, or related industry experience, is required, field service is highly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Must have demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical problem solving skills.
