The Intelligence Analyst will provide analysis of cyber incidents through research of technical attack indicators to provide situational awareness, attribution and enhanced network defense. Analysts will also be responsible for leading and supporting projects that drive tactical and strategic business objectives. Demonstration of leadership abilities in a large corporate environment as well as a strong comprehension of malware, emerging threats and calculating risk will be critical for success.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily response operations with a schedule that may involve nontraditional working hours
  • Analyze threat intelligence from a number of sources - ranging from open-source to private source to support the protection of GE's digital infrastructure and operations
  • Research intrusions and intrusion attempts by extrapolating threat indicators and providing context to threat response and detection teams
  • Lead small to medium size projects as directed by management
  • As requested, develop and deliver metrics to leadership
  • Research relevant cyber-intelligence feeds and contextualize findings to GE's specific business risks or vulnerabilities
  • Facilitate and perform integrated internal reporting and communication rhythms in partnership with IT Risk teams and Corporate and Business Communications
  • Work independently when necessary and be self-directed when appropriate
  • Provide technical expertise and counsel to management, other organizations and special projects personnel
  • Collaborate with management in developing technical directions, setting objectives and setting realistic and challenging goals
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical degree (or a minimum 4 years of IT experience)
  • Minimum 1 year of hands on experience in information security field
  • Minimum 1 year of professional Cyber Intelligence experience or Minimum 1 year of professional computer intrusion incident response experience
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Due to U.S. Government restrictions to certain types of technology and technical data involved with this position as well as the need to periodically visit domestic military bases to consult with DoD personnel on Extranet tools, this position is limited to U.S. Citizens
  • Must be willing to work off-shift hours
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

    GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Detailed understanding of Cyber Crime and/or APT and associated tactics
  • Experience with Network Security Monitoring, SIEM and/or other log aggregation and correlation tools
  • Experience with Yara, Python, Ruby and/or Splunk
  • Active US government security clearance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Previous hands on experience in the information security field
  • Previous hands on Scripting or programming experience
  • Awareness of the latest cyber-intelligence collection trends and developments
  • Experience developing cyber-intelligence briefings, specifically for diverse senior management & officials
  • Must possess strong analytical & evaluative thinking
