The IT Manager, Instruments is an influential role in the global IT organization and serves as a business partner (BP) for Stryker's Instruments division reporting to the Instruments Business IT Leader (BITL). This individual creates a high-impact partnership with the department leadership and teams to align IT priorities to department and division goals, manage demand for projects and system enhancements, and partner with other Global IT teams to ensure excellent delivery of IT services.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading through influence in the business -become a trusted advisor to business managers, leveraging process and technology to accelerate business goals

- Actively participate with local business teams to facilitate strategy and direction and actively shape IT demand

- Understand the business strategy and business processes at the local level - ensuring IT capabilities and needs are represented in planning processes

- Perform project pre-discovery work to determine business value and need

- Assess technology solutions and business process impacts

- Proactively apply IT capabilities to business needs

- Facilitate prioritization and advocate for the business in the project prioritization process

- Effectively transition project requests to Global IT resources for service and delivery

- Manage demand and expectations within assigned area

- Protect the achievement of IT projects and objectives

- Ensure end-user satisfaction with service offerings and service levels

- Liaise with IT leaders to ensure good communications and consistent IT experiences across Stryker facilities and functions

- Liaise with IT service delivery management (global solutions, infrastructure and PMO) to ensure good communications and consistent strategy and direction

- Develop deep relationships with local business partners; engage them on business and technology issues

- Serve as escalation point for issues as needed

Key accomplishments (90 days):

- Initiate key relationships with division and global IT managers

- Address local IT support issues with business and IT

- Assess ongoing projects and support and create plan of action to maintain or improve as needed

Key accomplishments (12 months):

- Establish strong relationships with division and global IT managers

- Maintain high customer engagement scores on IT customer engagement survey

- Present updated Technology Action Plan to department leaders in your scope

- Maintain successful track record of support and project delivery

- Maintain stable or improved architectural footprint for division

Qualifications/Work ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years prior work experience with at least 1 year participating in IT projects and strategy (directly or as a partner with IT). Prior management experience is strongly preferred.
Education and/or Special TrainingBachelor's degree required. MBA is a plus.
Strong relationship skills, ability to build trust and lead through influence
Strong ability to assess business needs, analyze project value and sell solutions to the business - the teach, tailor, and assert control skillset
Strong communication skills - written and verbal Qualifications/Work Experience: Percent Travel Required: 5%
