Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinates all software verification test requests for multiple infotainment head units for a given customer
- Leads and assigns work for 7-10 engineering students. This work includes working tightly with the software development team within engineering to perform:
- Feature specific tests
- Integration tests
- Partial/Full Regression
- Automated tests including those for diagnostics, ignition cycles, battery cycles, etc.
- Specific tests focused on deltas or changes
- In vehicle testing
- Defect reproduction
- Verification of fixed/resolved issues
- Responsible for maintenance of assigned vehicle fleet and ensuring vehicles are utilized to their fullest potential
- Coordinates assigning support for both internal/customer ride and drives
- Capable of and mentors students in the practices of capturing all related logs and video needed to fully document identified issues
- Ensures test results are documented and communicated appropriately and defects have been entered in the defect management tool
- Interfaces with the customer as needed to either arrange for a vehicle pick-up, reproduce an issue found in a particular vehicle
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 3-5+ years of Embedded software development or testing.
- 3-5+ years of C/C++ or other structured language.
- Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment.
- Working knowledge of Embedded software systems
- Experience working with Automotive infotainment systems
- Working knowledge of software development tools (debugger's, emulators, compilers, etc).
- Working knowledge of software development processes
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience developing and debugging Human Machine Interface software applications (ActionScript, HTML5, Java)
- Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multi-process environment.
- Working knowledge of QNX or Embedded Linux.
- Able to develop software at various levels in the software architecture.
- Experience working in a team environment using Agile software methodologies
- Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware.
- Able to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for troubleshooting.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative problem-solver capable of reproducing and fixing complex software defects.
- Capable project management and time management skills.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
- Willingness to work in an office in Farmington Hills, MI
- Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test.
