The Bing Information Platform team is a team within the Applications and Services Group. It is chartered with building a platform for enabling experiences that connect users naturally and intelligently to the world's knowledge across different Microsoft products like Office, Windows, Xbox, and Windows Phone. This team is delivering the next generation of platform services that enables how people interact with information from their devices, as well as highly compelling user experiences through natural language understanding, geo-spatial capabilities, advanced speech recognition, and additional platform intelligence services.

We are creating the best framework and services for our internal and external developers and partners to easily integrate our platform services with their applications, so they can focus on doing what they do best: creating the best applications and services for end users.
We are looking for a strong Software Development Engineer who is interested in building large scale platform services that supports clients running on other Microsoft platforms. You will work with a team of 4 to 6 developers plus your PM, designing server side and client features, and how they all interact with each other.

Bing as a platform (, bing blog ) is a game changer for Microsoft. As we are a new team, you will be one of the pioneers and have the opportunity to contribute from the early stages of this project.

Qualifications:
- Some background in large scale platform design and development.
- Experience in building standardized APIs.
- Software design and development skills/experience
- Expert knowledge in one of the following .NET, C#, C++, SQL, Azure
- Good grasp of efficient data structures and algorithms
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to drive technical investigations and prototyping in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience with Online services and database is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Bachelor degree in computer science is required. Master degree or PhD in related areas is a plus.
