Thomson Reuters is looking for an experienced networking professional to design, build, and support systems and/or application technology solutions for the Professional Software & Services organization within Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting business. Server environment consists of both Windows OS (75%) and Linux OS (25%). This candidate would take a contributor role in building, and supporting the server environment, support the local WAN/LAN initiatives along with the corporate WAN team, as well as provide daily support in the Windows environment.

Job Requirements
- Ensure high availability of systems and applications to corporate employees. Proactively provide maintenance and monitoring solutions to avoid outages affecting internal corporate systems. Identify root causes and correlation with other system and/or application problems.
- Complete complex tasks independently or with minimal guidance in a constantly changing environment. Provide subject matter expertise, especially in situations when scope or source is unclear. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to foster information sharing among team members. Produce and maintain technical documentation related to complex tasks and projects.
- Identify, recommend and implement improvements to departmental processes and looks for alternative approaches proactively. Evaluate and implement best practices with technology and processes proactively.
- Research, define and document risk analysis of new technology systems and/or application. Introduce sound technical solutions while minimizing the impact on internal corporate customers. Lead configuration management efforts (availability, capacity and performance).
- Make decisions related to multiple and competing priorities. Communicate status, milestones and issues as appropriate. Interact with peers and internal corporate personnel to coordinate various projects as requested and to represent their technical needs. Develop materials for informal training and conduct informal presentations for internal corporate customers and peers.
- Able to provide constructive peer-to-peer feedback, self appraisal and input into team goals. Create personal development plans. Assist in resource management and provide input into the budget process.
- Salaried position, with on-call and after-business hours required. Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of the following technologies:
- Cisco Network Switches and Firewalls - Including IOS, ASA or PIX Firewall configurations. (1-3 years)
- LAN and WAN networking technologies, DS3, T1 experience (1-3 years)
- Microsoft Server operating systems - Windows Server 2003 & 2008. (1-3 years)
- Microsoft infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policies, SMS, WSUS, SQL Server, Citrix (1-3 years)
- Previous experience with Linux OS (1-3 years)
- Various Windows Desktop operating systems
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization
- Previous experience using virtual technologies a plus.
- Previous experience with formal Project Management methodologies a plus.
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science or 4-5 years of experience in a similar position
