As a Technical Architect you will be responsible for providing deep technical oversight, expert level design reviews, and help drive technical standards and best practices. In addition to providing technical guidance you will also lead key initiatives to research and drive the adoption of new technologies to the GECARS application tech stack. You will also support the development organization in various technical aspects of research, complex design and development.

Essential Responsibilities:
The role requires a change-oriented individual who actively generates process improvements and drives change initiatives and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, while balancing multiple and competing priorities and executing accordingly.

As Technical Architect you will:

  • Serve as an overall solutions architect for specific programs and initiatives
  • Lead the development and provide oversight of future state designs
  • Review and approve technical designs (system, component, class, database, etc.) focusing on quality, simplification and re-usability
  • Identify and communicate technical issues
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to project teams and decision makers
  • Continue to expand enterprise architecture artifacts of GECARS including current state architecture, application roadmap, standards, etc.
  • Participate in the preparation of long-range systems plans and assure that they are in concert with business objectives and goals
  • Deliver hands-on designs, prototypes or proof of concepts as needed
  • Analyze industry and market trends and determine impact on the enterprise

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years of hands on application development experience in .NET technologies
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in web architecting and developing highly available large applications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide, web applications -specifically in managing multi-generational application development projects

  • Demonstrates customer focus by evaluating decisions through the eyes of the customer, building strong customer relationships, creating processes with customer viewpoint and partnering with customers to help shape their future initiatives
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - clear and succinct communicator who effectively evaluates all relevant data to make decisions, anticipate obstacles and develops plans to resolve them
  • Experience with Datamodelling and design in Oracle and/or Sql Server
  • Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large system environments
  • Experience building solution under a service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proven strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Domain knowledge of either accounting and/or financial applications
  • Experience in redesigning/rewriting Legacy application to a web application
  • Expert in .NET technologies, HTML/CSS/Ajax, Web Services, and SOA
  • Experience with BPM, Rules Engines, ESB technologies
  • In-depth understanding of architectural and design principals and methodologies, including: OOA, OOD, service oriented architecture, n-tier architecture
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a development lead role
  • Expert in Oracle database and experienced in using relational database tools, and good understanding of SQL
  • Experience with Business process management, automation, improvement, and re-engineering
  • Experience working with offshore development resources
  • Experience designing applications for a global user base
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a combination of Financial Accounting and a computer engineering/technical background
