Job Description:
We are a large omni-channel retailer seeking candidates for a Java Lead Developer in our eCommerce web development team within IT. Our eCommerce system runs on the IBM Smarter Commerce platform and provides the foundation for our strategic online business, which accounts for over $100 million in sales annually and is growing by double-digits every year. We are in the process of building an internal team within IT to take over the development and support activities of the system, and this position will play a key role in that transition and in the ongoing development of the site.
The Java Lead Developer will work with the current service provider to deliver improvements to the Websphere Commerce site and the Sterling Order Management system. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience working in a web development environment, with a firm understanding of Java/JEE concepts and development tools. He/she must be able to work effectively in a team environment and on cross-functional project teams that are created for the purpose of executing a development project. It is essential that the candidate have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The Lead Developer will be expected to take ownership of system problems, evaluate possible solutions, and present options and recommendations to the Applications Manager. The Lead Developer will work in a collaborative environment with other members of the applications team and technical services team, and will provide mentoring & guidance to junior developers.
