Job Summary:
This position supports strategic communication to drive and sustain the achievement of Harley-Davidson's purpose and business objectives through improved communication management. It has a key role in fostering advocacy for the Company's business strategies and point of view. This position drives strategic communications planning in collaboration with other corporate functions for major business initiatives impacting multiple stakeholder groups.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the Company speaks with one voice to multiple stakeholder groups, consistently reinforcing key business messaging to build understanding and alignment to the H-D purpose, strategy and the actions that help us achieve each.
The incumbent is responsible for the development, management and implementation of strategic plans. The incumbent is a key individual in the development, coordination and enhancement of company-wide communication processes and policies. This position is responsible for developing and publishing Corporate Communication content on RIDE. It also creates content and messaging in support of communication strategic plans. The incumbent manages the Communication Department's Work Unit Plan and budgeting process as well as department CI activities, department eRooms and the corporate message library.
This position also serves as the communication expeditor - the first point of contact for miscellaneous communication support requests. The incumbent acquires and applies a working knowledge of company business goals, objectives and strategies, its processes, products and competitors in order to effectively develop communication plans and develop messages that resonate with and ultimately build advocacy among multiple stakeholder groups.
Education Required:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in Communications or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. If the candidate does not meet the degree requirement a combination of relevant education and experience should total the equivalent of 12 years.
Experience Required:
This position requires:
- a minimum of four (4) years corporate communications or public relations management experience;
- the ability to be effective in a dynamic organization;
- superior organizational skills; and
- mature problem-solving skills when dealing with conflict management, be effective communicating with all levels of the organization, and be able to successfully present information in both positive and negative circumstances.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
