3M is seeking a Software Systems Engineer for the 3M ESPE Digital Oral Care lab located in Maplewood, MN - Be part of what's next!

Job Summary:

3M ESPE Digital Oral Care is looking for a Software Systems Engineer to participate in the design and development of the operating system platform software and system deployment infrastructure for the 3M True Definition Scanner and Connection Center Platform. Responsible for driving day to day business needs by managing processes and workflows, implementing Business Intelligence dashboards, and ensuring system security, data integrity, and SLA commitments. As the products and systems evolve, new, flexible, technologies and processes are needed to create a more extensible, cloud-based platform. The ideal candidate will help define the strategy to make this happen and take ownership of the design, development, and maintenance of this new architecture.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Leads the systems operations and maintenance of the platform
- Develops processes and tools ensuring system availability and up-time
- Systems engineering, development and maintenance of our hosted infrastructure
- Ensures secure systems with data integrity and stability
- Interfaces with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Participates in the design of the future platform enhancements and architecture
- Willingness to be on-call
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud based infrastructure
- Linux Scripting experience in Python, Ruby or Shell
- Understanding of standard Internet protocols
- Distributed file system experience with technologies such as MogileFS
- Proven track record of learning and adapting to new technology
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to support multiple concurrent projects
- Strong debugging and performance analysis skills
