Microsoft's North Central District sales team has an immediate opening for a Lync Technical Sales Professional (TSP) in the Kansas City, DSM/Omaha or STL area. This is an opportunity to join a high performing team of salespeople passionate about Lync and how Unified Communications (UC) can transform our customers' businesses.

The Lync TSP is responsible for delivering business and revenue results by providing technical sales leadership with Microsoft's UC solutions - Lync, Lync Server, Mobility, and UC Services. These solutions span cloud services and on-premises deployment. Key activities include: building architectural design strategies, achieving customer buy-in for identified solution areas, discussion and delivery of technical presentations and roadmaps, driving customer decisions and deployments, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders for success.

You will work closely with Voice Solution Specialists, Productivity Solution Specialists, Account Teams and other TSPs to develop and drive the account strategy to win each opportunity. When successful in this role, you will have helped displace Cisco, Avaya, and other competing technologies at Microsoft's enterprise customers to help Microsoft grow one of its key strategic products in the enterprise business.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Support pre-sales activities including: demonstrations of Lync client and Lync server and design sessions with customers.
- Participate in UC overview presentations, and owning all aspects of pre-sales technical work to drive revenue.
- Provide deep technical knowledge to qualify sales opportunities. This includes: discussion of UC product security; how to architect in the enterprise; network impact; and pros/cons of competitive products.
- Conduct architecture design sessions or proof of concepts for customers interested in deploying Lync. Must be able to have Level 400 discussion with customer's IT technical staff.
- Help manage initial pilots or trial usage of products by qualified accounts. This may include: provisioning UC products trial licenses; help with any installation problems; answering technical questions; providing help with any support issues and the support process.
- Work with Microsoft counterparts to help educate them on UC products, positioning, and joint selling strategies.
- Provide expertise on the business and technical value of Microsoft's communications infrastructure versus the competition.
- Help Lync sales team drive adoption, awareness and deployment of current versions where applicable.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Sales team as measured by quota attainment against sales and scorecard goals.

Successful Voice TSP's have great leadership skills, strong passion for driving business, great communication and consultative selling skills, exhibit outstanding collaboration skills, are sincerely customer focused, and deal well with ambiguity. They possess excellent presentation skills as well as in-depth technical and business value knowledge of Microsoft and competitive technologies. Candidates should possess an excellent understanding of the unified communications and collaboration marketplace along with the offerings of key competitors. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in major Voice, Data & Video technologies are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in relevant technologies such as:

- Voice and Data Platforms (TDM PBX & IP-PBX, Video MCU)
- Voice and Data Networks (PSTN, Wireless, IP)
- UC Applications (Voice Call Control, Audio/Video/Web Conferencing, IM/Presence, CDR, E-911, Voice/Fax and Unified Messaging)

- Application Integration Services ( TAPI, TSAPI, JTAPI, CSTA)
- SS7, GRR303, H.320, H.323 and SIP protocols
- TCP/IP networking, switches, Routers and firewalls.
