POSITION OVERVIEW:
Database Architect is responsible for the design, implementation and documentation of the enterprise's service delivery platforms. Your expertise is considered key for data modelling and Object Oriented Development methodologies/multiple technology platforms. Expertise in Oracle with an understanding of Sybase and SQL Server is necessary.

The Database Architect will enforce technical standards for the architecture and provide leadership to the application development team members in regards to implementation of data.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years experienced IT professional with background in:
  • Technical leadership 
  • Database design 
  • Administration and support experience 
  • Structured methodologies 
  • Large-scale application design and development (in distributed computing environment) 
• Demonstrated expertise in architecture, design, and support of relational database platforms 
• Skilled in mentoring and guiding others 
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into a data model 
• Excellent interpersonal skills 
• Ability to manage multiple projects 

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase 
• PL/SQL, T-SQL 
• Erwin, Visual Modeler and other modelling tools 
• Oracle Enterprise Manager, Microsoft Performance Monitor 
• Enterprise application integration (third party systems, Middleware)

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Visual Basic 
• C++
• Java
• UML 
• XML
• N-Tier architecture
