The Avanade Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring successful delivery of projects as measured by schedule, budget and deliverable quality performance measures. The Senior Project Manager will help sell, estimate, plan, launch, execute and successfully deliver projects. During the project life cycle, the Senior Project Manager will communicate status with regular frequency, manage risks and issues, and monitor financial performance according to in place agreements made between Avanade and the customer. They are challenged to understand and respond to clients' varied business needs in both the private and public sector, and work with clients to rapidly enhance the internal capabilities needed to continuously improve operational and innovation performance.

Job Description:
Avanade professionals are responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programs that combine processes with technology to help our clients achieve high performance. Senior Project professionals have a deep understanding of business processes and have the ability to successfully delivery in complex customer environments. They design, implement and deploy solutions to achieve defined business goals. They maintain skills in application design, development, integration, testing and deployment; and application technical architecture.

Key responsibilities may include:
- Assist in the sales process, including estimating work effort and expenses using Avanade's standard tools.
- Develop detailed work plans that form the baseline or yardstick for measuring process.
- Implement appropriate controls and governance structures to ensure on-time, on-budget and quality outcomes.
- Manage Avanade and subcontractor staff assigned to the project including the completion of project expectations and Project Contribution Forms.
- Manage issues and risks associated with the project.
- Manage the deliverable approval process essential to overall project approval.
- Work with the sales team to manage changes to the original agreements.
- Develop complete and accurate status reports.
- Support the generation of invoices and other tracking performed by Avanade Finance.
- Adhere to Service Line and Americas Managed Delivery guidelines and processes.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards (legal, commercial, methodology, etc) throughout all delivery management activities.
- Engage appropriate onshore, offshore and near shore workforces.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrate the ability to work systematically and logically to analyze situations, resolve problems, identify causes and anticipate implications
- Manage and develop customer relationships and perceptions to achieve mutual goals
- Demonstrate the capacity to plan, prioritize and organize their time, project schedules and multiple project activities
- Experience managing activities performed by offshore resources.
- Demonstrated extensive experience using key Project Management disciplines (estimating, work planning, contract management, scope management, user acceptance, etc.).
- Demonstrate extensive experience using delivery methodologies.
- Program and project management methods, tools and techniques.
- Demonstrate ability to lead complex projects that result in the accomplishment of overall business objectives.
- Consulting/project-based background (not strictly client-side).
- Basic knowledge of contract terms and negotiation skills
- Customer oriented attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding people management skills, including ability to lead a team and mentor individuals in career growth.
- Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, credibility, and character.
- Ability to travel 100% of the time (Mon-Fri)

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: Business or technology related BA/BS or related experience
- 6 to 9+ years of consulting project management experience
- Clear and concise oral and written communication
- Ability to lead people, teams and projects
- Understanding of aspects of business management and strategic evaluation
- Working knowledge of at least one software development methodology
- Certification in Project Management (PMP)
- Knowledge of project estimation techniques and challenges
- Working knowledge of Microsoft platform technologies
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Project
- In-depth knowledge of Earned Value reporting
