Req# 142508BR Position Title Manager Radio Frequency Engineering Position Summary

Directs activities in support of providing radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Oversees the design, planning, installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Manages the activities of individual contributors or supervisors with accountability for goals, objectives, and operational policies. May participate in the development of functional strategy. Has responsibility for hiring, termination, performance, and salary decisions.


Lead and manage RF market optimization to drive performance improvement. Manage Engineers and or vendors to plan and implement optimization activities. Work with other RF functional teams to tie together planning and deployment for coverage, capacity, and performance.* This position can be located near any Sprint office in Louisiana, Arkansas, Memphis or Nashville TN areas.
  • Must have valid driver's license, three consecutive years of active driving history, successfully complete driver's safety training, and otherwise comply with Sprint's Driver Safety Policy and guidelines.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school
  • Five years RF engineering work experience
  • Five years experience with project management and project implementation
  • Two years experience supervisory or management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten years or more of CDMA/EVDO RF optimization experience
  • Five years or more of supervising or managing experience
  • Good knowledge and skill sets of all vendor infrastructure optimizations
  • Five years or more of project and vendor management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
