The Graphic Designer in this contract position is responsible for advocating the company's global brand, marketing message, and information hierarchy through the use of digital and traditional design for brand design, collateral, and campaign efforts.
Major Job Duties:
- Create collateral and campaigns which follow the company's brand and user standards.
- Graphics include print/digital collateral, web comps and designs, inline images and campaign graphics.
- Guide production resources, business owners and third party agencies towards a consistent look, feel and brand for the website.
- Ensure websites follow company standards for graphic design.
- Develop new and adjust existing visual/branding/interaction style guideline standards for the company's branding.
- Ensure good understanding of the application with which you’re working, attend training and seek mentoring accordingly.
- Prioritize/manage multiple projects each quarter.
- Assist teams during development with graphic possibilities and limitations.
- Effectively communicate with teams across organizational borders, geographic regions, and different cultural backgrounds.
- Be involved end-to-end, spanning from early design, prototyping, specification, and through implementation.
Job Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of practical design experience
- Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Interaction/Information Design, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication Design; Master's degree or global equivalent a plus
- Excellent portfolio of work required
- Extremely strong visual design and branding skills, along with strong knowledge of UI design principles and practices
- Familiarity with most contemporary best practices as well as new developments in consumer and business web product design
- Ability to produce detailed, pixel perfect user interface specifications and behaviors as well as explain usage information, best practices
- Understanding of UI designs in the form of interaction flows, sketches, story boards, wire frames, mockups and basic interactive prototypes
- Interest and skills in information design, graphic design, mobile and web app design/development
- Fluency in the following graphic applications: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Flash and others that might be universally used in the industry
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Understanding of AJAX, JQuery, HTML5, and other web technologies a plus
- Experience operating in an Agile environment
- Ability to work within a small team to come up with innovative ideas and solutions to complex problems
- Strong problem solving, communication, organization, analytical skills
- Ability to conceptualize new features and "clever" ways of solving problems
- Fastidious but balanced attention to detail
- Ongoing desire to refine your craft
- Ability to discuss designs with peers and with other project team members, provide feedback and receive input
- Ability to embrace challenging assignments and can make good decisions on the fly
