Job Title: Senior Data Base Administrator
Location: New Castle, DE

CCHS has initiated a high profile, enterprise-wide effort to implement state-of-the-art Business Intelligence tools to evaluate/enhance clinical, research, and business operations. These efforts extend to data collection, data protection, reporting, analytics, data ETL and architecture strategies, portal development, and information delivery. The IT team is dedicated to generating accurate, meaningful enterprise analytics based on quality processes and quality data.

We are currently looking for a Senior Database Administrator to work with both infrastructure and the subject matter experts to consolidate, simplify and optimize the existing production data warehouse server environment. This role will provide oversight and focus on performance and tuning and give recommendations for improvement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the subject matter experts to create effective database designs, analyze performance bottlenecks and implement solutions.

Ensure a cost effective, efficient database environment is available for testing and operations.
Provides guidance to other BI Developers on the design of database systems, and on system and program design.

Provides data security support in defining and controlling access rules.Ensure the creation of high quality and on time deliverables. Ensures standards for user access security are followed.
Ensure documentation and proper on-call support. Provide support and technical guidance to resolve support issues as needed.

Ensure that standards for change management and production control are understood and followed.
Maintain effective user and IT relationships in order to provide a climate receptive to systems improvement and to enhance understanding of the user's business concerns.

Looks for areas of improvement in processes and procedures and offers recommendations.
Provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Extensive experience with the support of data bases and a thorough understanding of data base management systems and concepts in a data warehouse environment.

8+ years of experience in Information Technology.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
