Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies is recruiting for Biostatistics Summer Interns in Raritan, NJ.

Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C. develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. Research and development areas encompass novel targets in neurologic disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, hematology, metabolic disorders, immunologic disorders, and reproductive medicine.

These summer internships are available for students working towards their Master's or Doctorate in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline with at least 1 year of graduate work completed. The students have the opportunity to work with practicing statisticians and to learn about statistical applications specific to clinical or non-clinical pharmaceutical industry settings. J&J PRD benefits from the student's academic training and in turn contributes to the further professional development of the student and has a first-hand opportunity to evaluate the student's potential for future employment.

In this role, the successful candidates will be involved in activities supporting research and development in areas that range from drug discovery through Phase 2 and 3 clinical studies, including data preparation, statistical analyses, report writing and graphical exploration as well as the writing of computer programs associated with the statistical analyses. Other activities may include running data simulations, graphical exploration of data, design of experiments, and data set verification/validation.

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for this position, you must be enrolled in an accredited college. Student must be available during the summer and have the ability to work Full time during that time. You must be a Graduate/PhD student who has completed at least one year of graduate study. You are required to be pursuing a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related discipline or a Master's/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, statistics, computer engineering, or information science. Experience in working with programming languages/packages such as SAS, R, or S-PLUS is preferred.

Students must be able to provide their own transportation to/from their work location. Students must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (eg H1-B status) now or in the future.
