Seeking a seasoned IT leader with strong experience in various aspects of infrastructure and platform development. Effectively maintains focus on achieving bottom-line results while formulating and implementing advanced solutions to support the J&J businesses globally to:

Lead a global organization with global accountability for the architecture, design, engineering and provisioning of technology services covering Storage (Arrays, SAN, NAS), Server (UNIX, WINDOWS, LINUX, VMware), Cloud Computing, Data Protection (Backup, Recovery, DR) and Enterprise Management Systems.

Create and execute strategies for the Server, Storage and Enterprise Management Technology Domains and lead the transformation to the desired end state. This position leads the Technical Directors and Engineering Managers in the creation of vision, developing enterprise strategies and execution of portfolio programs and projects to drive forward transformation and aligns base business activities to support the current and future deployed standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions):

Provide strategic oversight for the Server, Storage and Enterprise Management technology portfolio of programs and projects. Deliver projects to drive forward the infrastructure transformation plan. Deliver complex global programs spanning multiple engineering and application groups. Examples of recent programs and projects include:

Create and update strategies for Servers Storage and Enterprise Management. Create target end state and associated business case to support the transformation. Create detailed program and project roadmaps that drive transformation. Participate in Portfolio and work stream planning/prioritization to ensure execution of the transformational plan. Provide support to external teams to ensure prerequisites and dependencies are identified across portfolios and work streams.

Enterprise Storage Refresh: Complete a health check of the storage environment and identify all service, cost and risk impacting issues. Create a desired end state for a transformational storage solution and Data Protection landscapes at J&J. Create a business case to transform. Carry out a comprehensive storage RFP. Renegotiate vendor contracts and ELA storage software. Create Storage project portfolio to transform. Initiate new storage standards and upgrade Storage Area Networks.

Lead the evolution of a multi-year, multi-million storage re-engineering, consolidation and refresh initiative that affect over 8PB of storage worldwide and reduced operating costs.

Global File Service - Design and develop a solution to provide global file serving to all J&J sites with data consolidation at Datacenters and Hub locations. Solution must be tapeless and centralize as much infrastructure as possible.

Lead the technology requirements input for building new and updating existing commercial frameworks with vendors. Provide commercial and industry oversight in the creation of contract and ELAs with the Strategic Sourcing Organization.

Act as an advisor to the Chief Technology Office (CTO) for all strategic initiatives and multi-year, multimillion dollar projects focused on transforming current storage, server and enterprise management landscapes

Provide consultancy and guidance to teams within the Engineering, CTO and IT organizations on the appropriate use of Storage and Server technologies and how to best integrate with the application platforms such as ERP, CRM, R&D, HR, Oracle, SQL Server, Exchange, Web Platforms and Sharepoint. Drive best practices through Architecture and Strategy and through to the Business GOC Architects on the use of Server and Storage Standards.

Lead the proof of concept, business case creation, and product assessment of a suite of Servers, Storage and Tools for the purposes of establishing a next generation technology pipelines that best suits J&J business needs and provide competitive advantage.

Design, engineer and deliver an automated service delivery and provisioning framework across server and storage platforms to enable efficiency and agility across stack.

Own the Service Catalogue and associated roadmaps for Servers and Storage. Track the total cost of ownership of all services and ensure all services meet the requirements for OLAs and SLAs as per J&Js ITIL adoption. Execute against the release management plan to keep standards up to date and ensure Operational Organizations are able to consume release deliveries. Work with the Operational organizations to collect feedback on current services for planning the future release. Provide Level 3 support and Problem Investigation response across Servers and Storage technologies.

Manage and run the server/storage build factory and provisioning of core infrastructure. Managing the TLM for core technology.

Qualifications

A B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field of study required. Master's degree is preferred. Professional certifications (such as ITIL, Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus. A minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in Information Technology within a large scale, global organization is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience successfully managing and leading people in a large IT organization is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing large enterprise transformational projects and financial budgets is required. A background in operational management of Storage and Server technologies in large global enterprises is required.

Breadth of experience interacting and leading multiple IT disciplines and technologies including: client/server technology, Middleware concepts, storage/SAN management, mission critical/high availability concepts, consolidation, and Internet technologies is required. Experience in Information Technology infrastructure strategic planning within a development and production environment is required. Significant experience managing complex technical projects, including leading other teams of individuals across several other organizations is required.

Advanced knowledge of system performance, hardware and software is required. Experience in running large server storage provisioning and deployment is required. Experience developing a scalable organization focused at providing better service and value to the business is required. Demonstrated ability to build strong business and supplier relationships that ensure the successful delivery of IT services that drives benefits to the segments and business units is required.
