Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for an IT Director, Core Technologies. This position will be based in Raritan, NJ and may require 15-20% domestic and international travel.

The IT Infrastructure Core Technologies leader is a member of the IT Infrastructure Services Organization, a global organization responsible for delivering Information Services around the world and a member of Johnson & Johnson's family of companies. The scope of technology includes but is not limited to: Operating Systems Wintel, UNIX, Linux HW/OS. Virtualization principles and technologies, ie VMware, Cloud technology etc. Storage technologies: SAN, NAS etc. Legacy platforms: Mainframe/AS400. Provisioning process and industry trends; including regulatory and compliance policies/requirements. Identity management, systems management, virtualization, storage, backup technologies and networking principles. Database technologies and principles including differentiators between Oracle, SQL Server etc. Infrastructure technology stacks for application platform to service ERP, Manufacturing, Financial System, CRM systems etc. Datacenter operations.

The Core Technologies Leader must possess an in-depth and broad understanding of application platform related infrastructure technologies, business processes, coupled with skills to manage relationships across IT.

Provide leadership to build and direct a global team of operational employees in the delivery of core technology services through a combination of direct line reporting and matrixed regional reporting. Collaborate with regional leadership in conjunction with regional implementation teams to deliver the highest level of operational efficiency and effectiveness possible. Manage the efficient resolution of operational escalations regarding core technology services. Proactively takes corrective actions to identify root causes or areas of concern with IT service operational performance. Design, implement and upgrade processes and systems for monitoring, benchmarking, and continuous improvement. Scan external best practice to establish processes, metrics and measures across the core technologies' portfolio/projects, performs analysis and develop recommendations for strategic alignment to J&J business and IS strategies and continuous improvement. Identify synergies and process standardization opportunities across the core technology teams and develop, recommend and execute strategies to capitalize on such opportunities. Ensure performance requirements are acceptable to all stakeholders and documents the acceptance of SLAs and operating-level agreements (OLAs) with Operational vendors into formal contracts. Direct the adherence to all Compliance specific regulations (GxP, Sox, etc.) Reside over all operational vendor functions for the Core technology services. Lead all aspects of vendor governance, including adherence to Service Level Agreements and Operational processes.

Direct vendor to ensure vendor goals and objectives, deliverables, and priorities are in-line with J&J strategies. Foster a commitment to operational excellence for the Core technology services. Responsible for all aspects of operational support, including execution of all associated ITIL support processes (eg incident, problem, change, request mgmt., etc.). Direct the L-2 and L-3 support operations for the core technology service areas.

Manage the core technology operational finances and budget. Control the Run operations of all products and services in the specific service area by leveraging opportunities and make decisions that affect cost, quality, and efficiencies. Build and improve service area operations and technology management skills by providing leadership in the recruitment, development, and management of teams of diverse IT professionals including fostering teamwork, performance management, training, accountability of metrics and compliance with all policies and procedures. Provide leadership and drive employee engagement of all core technology employees. Use the J&J Credo to drive the highest level of employee engagement across the teams. Develop clear operations focused communication channels for BUIT. Partner with regional teams in gathering regional centric support requirements for the respective service.

Qualifications

A minimum of a B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field of study or equivalent experience is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Information Technology within a large scale, global organization is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience successfully managing and leading people in a large global IT organization is required. A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a specific infrastructure service area in a global organization is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in large enterprise transformational projects and financial budgets is required. Strong people development and collaboration skills are required. A result driven multi-tasker with the ability to execute efficiently on a variety of programs concurrently is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate and present across all management and organizational levels are required. Ability to manage multi-cultured teams with an awareness of differences and creating an environment that fosters excellence, collaboration and teamwork. Experience in Information Technology enterprise-wide operations of Server, Storage, ERP, Data Base and BI areas of services. Significant experience managing complex technical projects, including leading other teams of individuals across several other organizations is required. Experience developing a scalable organization focused at providing 24X7 Service Operations, delivery and value to the business is required. Knowledge of infrastructure technologies and their respective solutions and technology stacks, including HW and software, within the scope of understanding the interaction between the various technologies, to effectively understand the product suite these technologies would be bundled into. Specific required technical knowledge includes (but is not limited to): Server HW. Operating System Microsoft OS, Linux, Unix VMware etc. implementation, and management knowledge. Network HW device knowledge (switches, routers, hubs, firewalls, load balancers). Principles of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL and DNS Protocols. Internet and networking technologies such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, NTP. Global high-performance platforms ie, Grid computing, Cloud services developments and options.

Demonstrated ability to build strong business and vendor/supplier relationships that ensure the successful delivery of IT services that drives benefits to the segments and business units is required.

A strong leader and team player able to interact and lead at various levels within the organization is required who can also interact and lead on a global basis. Ability to lead and manage large global technical teams is required. .
